SUMMARY:Biologist for a Day (for kids)
DESCRIPTION:Does your child love the outdoors\, nature\, and wildlife? Maybe they want to be a biologist\, wildlife biologist\, or natural resource professional when they grow up! Come join SCDNR staff for a day in the life of a Wildlife Biologist at the Yawkey Wildlife Center! Kids will get to participate in hands-on activities replicating tasks that our wildlife biologists use to monitor and manage for wildlife populations on the property. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This trip requires little walking\, but participants will need to navigate 2 floating docks and a pontoon boat to cross the Intracoastal Waterway\, as well as a few steps onto the tour bus. Bring a snack and drink. Be prepared to be outdoors and the possibility of bugs\, and please wear closed-toe shoes. Trips start at 10:00 and run until approximately 2:00\, although kids’ trips usually end a little sooner.
