Fall Forest Walk (Oak Ridge)

October 29 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Experience the changing of seasons on a hike through Oak Ridge, one of Cat Island’s hardwood
forests, ending with a view of Winyah Bay. Ecology and history of the forest will be discussed
along the way, including a final glimpse of the carnivorous Pitcher Plants before they go dormant
for the winter. This program centers around a leisurely hike through the forest that does include
some hills and uneven ground. Participants should be prepared to cross the Intracoastal
Waterway via pontoon boat, as well as around 3 miles of walking. Bring a bag lunch and drink.
